Associate Pastor, Ext. 220
Shawn is a native of Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelors of Arts in Education Ministries. He attended Princeton Theological Seminary and graduated in 2005 with a Masters of Divinity and was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). While at Princeton, Shawn served at New Providence Presbyterian Church and he and his wife welcomed their first child. After graduating Princeton and leaving New Jersey, Shawn served Presbyterian churches in California, Virginia, Illinois and Florida. Shawn and his wife have been married for 21 years and have five children ages 5 to 17. They have faithfully served the church together throughout their marriage.
Shawn’s goal is to help people of faith grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Shawn sees each day as an opportunity to grow closer to God through prayer, studying scripture and learning within a community. In the Christian faith the hard work, the impossible work, is already done. Jesus accomplished it, when He reconciled us with God, and now we are free to grow as people. Shawn interprets being a disciple as always being hungry for more of God. What does it mean to have more of God in our day to day lives with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers? Shawn is passionate about answering this question and being on this life long journey together with the community of North Lake Presbyterian Church.
