Jerry Lion

Visitation Pastor

Rev. Jerry Lion serves as Church Visitation Pastor, a fifteen hour a week position (primarily on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.)  He visits church members and others in the hospitals, rehab facilities, and memory care units.  He enjoys reading, writing, gardening, swimming, politics, and is a real news hound.  He is a prayer leader, an Alpha co-director and a teacher of a course on Heaven.  “God has blessed us with 40 years of marriage and with three adult children and seven grandchildren who live in Orlando, upstate New York, and Ireland.  We have found that being grandparents is a distinct calling from the Lord.”  Jerry is an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church, a graduate of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary.  He retired in 2016 after 36 years of ministry in churches in Minnesota, Michigan, the state of Washington, and Connecticut.  “I love people and I love ministry in NLPC.  It is an honor and privilege to help many in the last chapter of their lives, to help them run the final stretch of their race with joy and gratitude as they look forward to seeing Jesus and other beloved family members who have already passed into glory.”
